The Women's Discipleship Ministry currently has three main avenues for studying God's Word together and fellowshipping: Small Groups, Large Groups, and Season of Life Groups. Please see a more detailed description of each of these faithful groups below.
Encouraging discipleship through the study of God’s Word in small groups. Women meet together weekly in 2 different types of small groups throughout the school year. The groups are formed in September, but women may join groups any time of the year. In 2018-19 the groups will be studying 2 Hebrews:
Tuesday, 9:30-11:30am, ABC, Small Group, Childcare provided
Wednesday, 7:00-9:00pm, Alexandria, Small Group
Thursday, 8:00-9:30pm, Fairfax County near GMU, Small Group
Thursday, 7:30-9:00pm, Oakton, Small Group
Encouraging discipleship and evangelism through studying and proclaiming God’s Word together in large groups.
This evangelistic event is held at the church the 2nd Saturday in December. Friends and family are invited to a lovely tea with caroling, readings and a short talk on the true meaning of Christmas.
This event generally takes place in early spring. It is a time for the women to fellowship and have fun together from Friday evening to Saturday evening in an area hotel. It is also an opportunity for the younger women of ABC to learn from the older women who endeavor to teach what is good in four sessions throughout the weekend.
Season of Life Groups
Encouraging discipleship through prayer and fellowship with women in similar seasons of life. These groups form based on the interest of members of ABC and the approval of the elders. In the past these groups have included:
Women in the Workplace Reading Group
Homeschool Fellowship Group
Intercessory Prayer Group
